Privacy Policy

Selldoh (“Selldoh,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides ordering software and related services to local food businesses (“Vendors”) and their customers (“Customers”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

This policy applies to selldoh.com, vendor storefronts hosted on subdomains of selldoh.com, and any other websites or services that link to this policy. By using the Service, you agree to the terms described here.

We collect information in three ways:

Information you give us directly

• Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, business name, and similar details you provide when signing up as a Vendor or Customer, joining a mailing list, or contacting us.
• Order information: the items you order, pickup or delivery details, and notes you add at checkout.
• Payment information: processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We retain limited payment metadata (last four digits, brand, billing ZIP, charge and refund identifiers) for receipts, dispute response, and reconciliation.
• Communications: messages you send us by email, SMS, or through the Service.

Information we collect automatically

• Device and log data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
• Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for authentication and cart state, and limited analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.

Information from third parties

• Stripe: identity, payout, and dispute information relating to Vendors’ connected Stripe accounts.
• Telnyx and Amazon SES: delivery, bounce, and opt-out status for SMS and email messages we send on a Vendor’s behalf.

• To operate the Service and process orders and payments.
• To send transactional messages (order confirmations, pickup reminders, receipts, account notifications) by SMS or email.
• To send marketing messages from a Vendor to its own subscribed Customers when those Customers have opted in via that Vendor’s storefront. Customers can opt out of any Vendor’s marketing messages by replying STOP, UNSUB, or UNSUBALL to any SMS, or using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• To send Selldoh-level announcements (such as launch updates) to people who have opted in on selldoh.com.
• To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, comply with legal obligations, and protect the rights and safety of Selldoh, Vendors, and Customers.
• To improve the Service, including aggregate analytics and product research.

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the following categories of recipients:

• Vendors: when you place an order with a Vendor, we share your name, contact details, and order details with that Vendor so they can fulfill the order and communicate with you.
• Service providers who help us run the Service, under contract and with access limited to what they need:
  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and Vendor payouts
  • Telnyx LLC — SMS delivery
  • Amazon Web Services (Simple Email Service) — email delivery
  • Supabase, Inc. — database and authentication hosting
  • Vercel Inc. — web hosting and content delivery
• Legal and safety: when required by law, valid legal process, or to investigate suspected violations of our Terms.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

Selldoh sends SMS messages through Telnyx on behalf of itself and its Vendors. By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring text messages, including order updates, pickup reminders, and (where you have opted in) marketing messages from the specific Vendor or from Selldoh. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

You can opt out of all Selldoh-sent SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. You can opt out of one Vendor’s marketing messages by replying UNSUB followed by that Vendor’s keyword (provided in every message), or opt out of all Vendor marketing messages by replying UNSUBALL. Email opt-outs are honored via the unsubscribe link in every marketing email or by emailing hello@selldoh.com.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations (including tax, dispute, and anti-fraud requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Order and payment records are typically retained for at least seven years for tax and accounting purposes. Marketing contacts are retained until you opt out, after which a suppression record is kept indefinitely so we do not contact you again.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and certain other jurisdictions have specific statutory rights under the CCPA, GDPR, and equivalent laws.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@selldoh.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, role-based access controls, and row-level security in our database — to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take our obligations seriously and notify affected users of material incidents as required by law.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Selldoh is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on selldoh.com or by email to registered Vendors. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
